Sleeping beauty in herbs

SO was shattered when he arrived home. Saturday evening was one of sleep.  Sunday we did nothing much. Weather was such that outside sports was not going to happen. On Monday we did venture outside for some mild shopping.
Biggest purchases were at the meat store (biological butcher) and at the garden centre. We went there to buy a garden hose. So we bought everything, including the garden hose.
The best purchase were herbs and bulbs. We selected quite a few bulbs that can be planted in early spring (we missed the tulip and daffodil planting season) and herbs. Currently they live in our window. We now have fresh Chives, Rosemary, Thyme (two kinds) Parsley, Oregano and Lemon verbena. We are planning on some Mint, Basil, Sage and Lavender.

So with that it looks like I have recovered the one thing I truly missed from my home in New Zealand. Having a herb garden. It will be a few weeks before harvest can start, but I am looking forward to having a continuous supply of every herb I want.

About Gilraen

My blog is simply about my life. I moved countries for the first time in 1993. I lived in the Netherlands, UK and NZ. The initial idea was to keep my overseas friends up-to-date with what was going on in my life. The blog, like me, is always changing and evolving.
