Earthquake, but we are still going

What a start of our holiday/honeymoon. We woke up tot he news of a huge earthquake devastating  Christchurch. Now we were destined to arrive in Christchurch as our first port of call. So we immediately set the wheels of change in motion. This of course included putting our parents mind at ease.

Our first decision, we are still going, but not to Christchurch. We’ll be arriving and staying in Auckland instead. Still busy trying to organise a place to stay. We think this will be easier in Auckland as I have plenty of friends there that will us allow to crash at their place.

We suspect that Auckland hotels will be full as Christchurch airport is currently closed so travelers will be stranded. We are grateful that we had made few plans, and those that we did make just turned to rubble. So we are really not sure about what and how, but we’ll keep all of you posted on progress.

About Gilraen

My blog is simply about my life. I moved countries for the first time in 1993. I lived in the Netherlands, UK and NZ. The initial idea was to keep my overseas friends up-to-date with what was going on in my life. The blog, like me, is always changing and evolving.
