peace at last

As we could only stay the one night in our lovely hotel we had to find a new one the next day. We did so quickly. Just up the road from where we are staying. Less full and less exciting, but not bad at all. An advantage is that we now have a separate bedroom. This one is not in the Lonely Planet and that may mean less occupancy. It is fine for us. We’ll be staying until Tuesday.

We decided that after our travel of the last few days we were in for a let’s do nothing but walk and enjoy day. The only other thing that we did was to take a trip on the steamboat over Lake Wakatipu. It was wonderful with the sun out. from one end of the lake to the other and back. Nothing more. Except of course that the camera was doing overtime again. Upon our return we had a lovely dinner on the waterfront. It was a perfect day, just what we needed.

We did fall in love with Queenstown. Wonderful sunshine, beautiful mountains, magnificent lake and lots and lots of fun things to do. Of course it is the down season and it is touristy, but we are tourists, so we can fall in love with the place.

About Gilraen

My blog is simply about my life. I moved countries for the first time in 1993. I lived in the Netherlands, UK and NZ. The initial idea was to keep my overseas friends up-to-date with what was going on in my life. The blog, like me, is always changing and evolving.
