Shop in – shop out

Our first Auckland was dedicated to shopping. Lots of stuff that we want to take home. First stop the Fabric Warehouse. They sell designer end of line fabric and other left over material from clothing factories as well as their own merino wools. It is a place one needs to know as it is hidden away in one of the not so good neighbourhoods. They also sotck a fair few ethnic fabrics and that is what I wanted as that is hard to get in Europe. So I scored some really nice ethnic and other fabrics that are simply cheap as compared to home. Next stop Bendon Outlet. Bendon is NZ baed and the outlet sells end of line and seconds. One of their most well known brands is  Elle MacPherson. Oops and htey were having a sale too. how horrible 🙂 I did not go all out but did score some really nice stuff.

The Sushi at my old hang out. A small cafe attached to an Asian importer across the road from a previous employer. Very good and dirt cheap. Then on to Silvia Park, NZ’s lagest mall. Personally I am not too fond of the mall system but it is good if you are into the industrial shop mode. We went to Katmandu. They too had a sale on and we went to buy a picnic basket we really really wanted. That too was on sale. Now that was simple luck and my fabrics will be transported inside the basket. We went back to Devonport during rush hour traffic and had dinner. The evening was spend relaxing on our own little porch, It was a good day.

About Gilraen

My blog is simply about my life. I moved countries for the first time in 1993. I lived in the Netherlands, UK and NZ. The initial idea was to keep my overseas friends up-to-date with what was going on in my life. The blog, like me, is always changing and evolving.
