Art art baby

SO and I are participating in an art course and we love it. Basically the course is an introduction into where to find art, meeting artists, and galleries. It is big fun and we have a nice good group where there is a connection with quite a few people.

It is organised by Heden. A non profit organisation where you can rent modern pieces of art. The have a large ever evolving collection and do small exhibitions as well.

Yesterday we had a reading by the editor of one of the art magazines and a pre-view of the new exhibition and met two of the artists exhibiting there.  During the reading my brother called. Hm he never calls unless there is something important or my birthday. The latter was not the case so something was up. I called him back during the break. Turns out he is trying to contact our parents on holiday. Did I know more? Nope, why? Well the pond is leaking and the fish are now in a tight spot. Sure water is being added, but really he thought it best to have dad back. I agreed, but I also said, they are most likely out for dinner. Once they see your 100 missed calls they will call you. He thought about it and agreed. Nothing more we can do.

After the break we went to the exhibition (through the door of the reading room), where the curator told about the how and why and the two artists chimed in. It was fun. All the while there were two pieces that grew on me. As it turns out SO was pretty in love with them too. And then he said where he could see them. This is a wall where we have actively looked to find something for. But we were stuck on the idea that it needed to be apple green and this certainly was not green.

Green or not green it would be a great match and we both liked it. The look we know so well. Let’s see what they would cost us. Oh on a monthly basis what we save for art anyway. How convenient. Then we own them (if we wish) in two years time. Nice. Uhm where do we sign? We sign next week after the exhibition. Deal.

The works are made of stuff, not sure what kind. And thought they have no references to it, they remind us of solar and moon eclipses. The picture really does not do them a lot of justice.

They come home somewhere in July. We can’t wait!
