When we were in Germany we managed to hang on to a few ticks – or rather them to us. SO was badly bitten – three times. Me only once. So that means keeping track of what is going on with the bites. We got to them quickly and thus the chances of Borellia infection are low. So’s tick bites were healing fast. Mine was not. It was also not developing any rings or whatever. It just stayed red for nigh on 10 days. Both SO got a little concerned about this, apparently atypical, development
So off to the GP I went. She was also uhmming and ahing over it. Not typical at all, but confirmed tick. Hmmmmm what is the right thing to do? In then end we came to the conclusion: I was given the antibiotics leaving the decision to start up to me, if I felt that the bite was changing.
Two days later and I am on antibiotics. The red part around it seemed to change a little and enough is enough. So I started. 10 days of pills Yuk, not happy but feeling that this is a thing I must do.
SO in the means time is getting slowly better with this bruised ribcage. He can lie down without pain now, which means he can sleep and thus recover better. His eyes are brighter again and his mood is also better. Not that he was grumpy but the pain does have an impact on behaviour. Laughing and coughing are still painful.
So another weekend of low key stuff. We need it at present I think.
