This sewing class I spent unpicking a seam. Or rather lots of them. I decided that the lining in my top was not behaving and to take it out. As it was just about finished (needed buttons only that was a bit of a major to do. Plus I will need to reline it, but that is OK. At least I will have a nice garment that I like.

It took me a week to make the decision and though it is a horrible job to take a full lining out, the problems with the seams or rather the fabric meant that I had to. See the lining fabric frayed and so the seams came undone. Every time I would hand seam it, but it started to look like bad patchwork and I really disliked the look of the lining, plus knowing that it can fray again was enough to decide.

Oh well once it is finished I know I will be happy that I did do it, but for now it is an irritating job to do.

About Gilraen

My blog is simply about my life. I moved countries for the first time in 1993. I lived in the Netherlands, UK and NZ. The initial idea was to keep my overseas friends up-to-date with what was going on in my life. The blog, like me, is always changing and evolving.

You are a lot more patient than I am 🙂

If I’d listened to my impatient self it would not have happened. It really really has taken me a lot of self discipline to do the right thing here. 🙂
