Yesterday we decided to have an experimental food day. This decision took us to the garden store where we thought we would be early and one of the few. Well we were early, but not one of the few. Once we got near the check-out we got to stand in a long long cue and waited patiently for about 20 minutes before we could pay. And when we finally got out we noticed that there were more people pooring in than leaving the place. Totally amazing.
But what did we buy that we were willing to wait for such a huge crowd? A stone. Yes you hear that correctly a stone. Not just any old rock mind you but a pizza stone. We have one that we used before but this new one is for in the BBQ! Yes we made a BBQ pizza. That was the main course – the starter was Gazpacho a recipe SO knows quite well and which is totally yummie. Then we got to the BBQ pizza. Shall we say we need some more practice? It was edible, nice etc, but well it sort of stuck to the stone, the bottom was sort of cooked but not quite and that makes that we say it has potential and needs to be practiced ……..a lot 🙂 Mind you the cheese was sensational on it and it was also a huge amount of fun to do this.
Desert was chocolate mousse. A recipe found that I found on another blog; Laughing cow. I only used the first recipe as there was no heartbreak, but the chocolate mouse is pure indulgence and should be eaten more, not just at heartbreak time. It was totally wow to eat it.
After some “burp we have had enough” and looking rather smug at each other SO started a fire in the fire case and we smelled smokey when we went to bed. Maybe that was what made the fire alarm go off at my meeting this morning. Of course that happens when you have a meeting on the 14th floor, need to use the stairs etc. Yes it was a exercise. But fire connected it nicely with the long weekend.
