At last a simple weekend

Finally we have had one of those weekends where we had nothing much to do. A weekend where the biggest thing is what are we going to eat.

It was lovely and we missed it so in the past few months. Saturday was sunny in the afternoon and we walked into town. I had to get some buttons for my latest project and as I was inside a band started playing. It is a ’60-’70 cover band. The type that is not fantastic but quite good. Fun to listen to as you can sing along. Most of the time I am not a big fan of bands playing in the street. Oftentimes they seem to be of the opinion louder=good and more base=even better. The sort of thing I disagree with. This band however does not have a base (three guitars, drums and some gadgets like harmonica) and are not insanely loud. Plus of course not bad at all on the musical front.

SO and I listened to them for some time and I sang along. With special thanks to my mum, who played all that type of music in the car when we drove to my gran. Due to her I am well versed in the songs from her time period.

Today we only went for a run/cycle. Weather was wetter and we arrived home kinda wet, but happy that we got onto our sports again. We needed that as it had been sorely neglected in between work and illness. We had dinner with our skietsing buddies in our local. Nothing major and that is ever so nice.

The only really news worthy thing? We booked our holiday! Yes we are going.

About Gilraen

My blog is simply about my life. I moved countries for the first time in 1993. I lived in the Netherlands, UK and NZ. The initial idea was to keep my overseas friends up-to-date with what was going on in my life. The blog, like me, is always changing and evolving.
