I can walk again!

Now this is not some dramatic miracle cure of course. but the weather has turned a bit and makes walking fun again.

Just cycling to work is no fun for me. Sure there is the added bonus that I am home early (makes an hour difference) but really it also makes me lethargic, grumpy and sad. This of course is not helped by the nights if sweat and tossing and turning. SO in his wisdom bought a fan this year, for which I am eternally grateful. Though noisy it allowed me some sleep and SO managed a reasonable sleep as well (he is more sensitive to noise than I am).

Having had a forced break did prove to be good about something. My hip had been playing up a lot lately and with the rest all the pain is gone. When I went to a shoe place to have my walk filmed and tested he suggested that I had overdone it and that my walk though steady is not rolling off the foot right. They want me to see a podiatrist (foot specialist) Not too keen, but will give in after the holidays I think. Currently having a focus on rolling my foot right, which results in muscle pains. But I am trying and my hip is doing fine again.

This week I walked twice to work and boy that feels so nice again – I can feel how my body and mind are responding to it and I am loving it. It is dry, warm, but not hot a little wind. Perfect weather for walking that is.

Just a few more days to go for us both. Just four more days of work and a weekend to my parents for my fathers birthday. Life is good again. I can sleep, I can walk and I am nearly there for my holiday (sooooooo looking forward to that)

    That’s great!
I miss my walks to work but unfortunately I now live a little too far away. A couple of miles closer (and not such a big busy road where I’m not even sure pedestrians are allowed) and it would be perfect!
I too can sleep again now that the temperature has dropped back down to “normal”.

Distance is a very important factor yes. But it is solidly one of the positive things of my current job. Ah to be able to sleep again The bad sleep is truely one of the worst things about summer
