Happy 2014!

A new year, a new chance at discovery of new things to do.

Happy-New-Year-2014On the last wo days of the year our neighbours had the stairs redone and the noise was massive. We ended up going shopping and out for lunch just to be away from the noise Food was nice and we found a nice place to spend some time. Thankfully they finished by 4pm on new years eve.

Our new year change was uneventful in most ways we spent it at home and watched the fireworks. Lots and lots of loud banging fireworks and they really hurt my ears (specifically the one that already has tinnitus) Bit worried about that to be honest. We slept in and spent some time with the in-laws in the afternoon. I was so utterly tired the whole day. Must have greatly underestimated that tiredness that has built up over the last few months

The evening we spent watching Michael van Gerwen become world darts champion. Of course with some knitting at the same time.  Just one gripe; the commentary! Just as with football it takes then over an hour just talking about well nothing much Running commentary about what may happen in the near future. Very very boring. The match however was nail-biting toward the end. Don’t know why but SO and I just love watching darts and van Gerwen just looks like a bald huge teddy bear with facial expressions that are telling and funny. We were glad when the final tops (double 20) was in and we could go to sleep. Well done to van Gerwen.

About Gilraen

My blog is simply about my life. I moved countries for the first time in 1993. I lived in the Netherlands, UK and NZ. The initial idea was to keep my overseas friends up-to-date with what was going on in my life. The blog, like me, is always changing and evolving.
