couch potato

When SO and I bought our house in 2009 we felt we needed a new couch as what we had was not perfect. So we went and had a look around

As can be expected under time pressure one does not find anything too suitable and in de end we decided that we’d move in and manage for a bit live in the house and leave it at that for a year or so. We all know what happens with a year or so of course.

What we have is a two seater which is very stylish and pretty. As a drawback it seats two and no more ever. As said it is pretty and purple, but it is a seater, not a lounge suite. We can lie on it but only one at at time not really together. We have done so but really getting up is then a puzzle and needs discussion as to who is moving which limb where to avoid knocking each other unconscious. Lying on it when feeling poorly usually results in a crick in the neck but it sufficed for a little while.

Well as the year or so moved into the sixth year of living here and I had had another backache from not lounging comfortably I told SO we were going to look for a new one that would meet both our esthetic and lounging needs. We started a few months back and found something we could agree on in principle. But we both felt “buts” with it we could not quite explain. So we decided to go to the store the store where we had bought our dining table, a cabinet and a chair, so in short where knew that they have stuff we like.

We walked in and there it was. We fell for a couch hook line and sinker. Not the colour (grey) but the shape which was curved but with clean lines. It has a corner where we could stretch our legs, it was different in many ways yet still quite traditional in others. A bit like us. So after measuring everything three times and thinking it over for a week we decided to buy it. Yesterday it was ordered. In Fuchsia colour. Bright but not too bright, different yet in tune with the room and very us. It will take 8-10 weeks before it arrives but then we finally haveĀ  lounge couch where we can lounge together So looking forward to it!
